Serve up a sensational harvest centerpiece

Posted on 08/17/2015 by Holly Clark

From the glorious colors of changing leaves to the fun of the county fair, fall is a wonderful time for celebrating the simple joys of life. Bring the lighter side of the season to your table or sideboard with your favorite serving platter as the base for this charming harvest-themed centerpiece!

Using our Beaded Collection Serving Platter as a starting point, we’ve come up with some easy ideas that can flow with the season.

Materials

Beaded Collection Serving Platter
Miniature hay bales
Decorative scarecrows on floral picks or wires
Ornamental corn with shucks attached
Turkey or other seasonal figurine
Vintage candy jar
Mini pumpkins or gourds
Twine or seasonal ribbon (optional)

How-to

Place a miniature hay bale or two toward the back left corner on the Beaded Serving Platter. Secure scarecrows to the hay bale by their picks or wires. Arrange ornamental corn, turkey, and candy jar in a pleasing configuration around the hay bales. Scatter mini pumpkins and gourds, allowing them to trail off the platter or lean against it. For bit of extra flair, add a few touches of twine or seasonal ribbon to complete the look.

Tips

• For a relaxed look, scatter some wisps of hay from the miniature bales across your centerpiece
• Use vintage or seasonal candy in the candy jar. We love the color and the nostalgia of candy corn!
• To keep the look fresh, change out candy, turkey figurine, or other elements as the season progresses
