Serve Up a Simple Fall Centerpiece
We asked Biltmore floral designer Molly Hensley to help us create a centerpiece that would bring the outdoors inside this season. In a few simple steps, she showed us how to put a pretty arrangement together that adds a natural look to your table or buffet:
Choose a small potted green plant in a liner. Wrap the outer pot in moss and add a decorative length of raffia or ribbon. Set the wrapped and beribboned pot on a serving dish like the one shown—a beautiful pewter piece featuring a charming bird perched on the side. Tuck in a few natural elements like dried leaves and seed pods—Molly chose dried lotus pods and top shelf mushrooms—and you’ve got a decorative centerpiece that looks lovely all season long.
Our Bird Collection serveware by Belk is ideal for entertaining and also makes a great gift. Purchase the oval platter here. Other serveware pieces also available.
Don’t forget to water the potted plant according to its instructions—that will help keep your centerpiece fresh and green!Return to Blog
