Sunday, March 20 - Saturday, December 31 — Offered Thurs. - Sun. at 8:00 a.m. & 10:00 a.m. Activity lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

Guided Hikes

Overnight guests (complimentary) & Passholders ($10 per person) only.

Explore the East Side of the estate with an insider’s perspective on this complimentary guided hike. Hikes cover both paved and unpaved terrain and are suitable for beginner to intermediate hikers. Meet your hike leader at the entrance of the Outdoor Adventure Center.

  • 8:00 a.m. Trail Blazer is a fast-paced hike on dirt terrain in wooded areas, avoiding the heat.
  • 10:00 a.m. River Stroll is a relaxed-pace hike on partially paved roads to the Lagoon.

 

Reservations are required and may be taken up to one hour prior to the event.  See the concierge at The Inn or the Village Hotel front desk to reserve.  Passholders please contact the Reception & Ticketing Sales Center to reserve.

A Gardener’s Place Seminars - Winter

Included with estate admission.

Please join us in A Gardener’s Place Gift Shop, located beneath the Conservatory, for daily free demonstrations featuring gardening and floral topics.

 

1:00 p.m. -  Wonderful Winter Wreaths
A beginner? No problem. Basic design tips will give you confidence. Whether you’re a traditionalist or more contemporary be inspired with new ideas and techniques. Personalize your wreath using natural elements, such as twigs, cones, and moss.

 

2:00 p.m. -  Terrific Tabletop Topiaries
How about something different instead of the usual centerpiece? Learn different styles and techniques and use faux berries, greenery, natural materials and your imagination!

Experience the holidays wreathed with the wonder of Biltmore. Our celebration presents Christmas on a grand scale with more than 40 trees decorated by our talented staff, accented with miles of ribbon, garlands, and lights. Festive menus in our restaurants and holiday wine tastings make for a memorable visit.

Candlelight, firelight, and live music bring holiday warmth to the extravagant holiday décor of Biltmore House, creating an evening to remember. Evening guests can also take advantage of Antler Hill Village & Winery to enjoy free wine tastings. Advance reservations are required for evening visits.

Enjoy festive Christmas caroling in Antler Hill Village on Saturdays and Sundays and the day after Thanksgiving. Five 30-minute sets starting at 3:00 p.m.

Visit Santa in Antler Hill Village

Included with estate admission.

Bring the family to visit Santa at the bandstand in Antler Hill Village on Saturdays and Sundays from November 5 – December 18, plus November 22, 23, 25 and December 19 - 23, 2016. It’s the classic Christmas moment you never outgrow, and one your children will talk about forever and ever.

Vanderbilt Wine Club Christmas Party

Join us in the Vanderbilt Room at The Inn to embrace the holiday spirit with this charming annual tradition of creating your own gingerbread house! The Inn's Pastry Chef will be on hand to assist you and decorations include a wide assortment of colorful candies. In addition to Santa making special visits to mingle with everyone, you can enjoy our delightful Holiday Tea menu and all the ambiance of our Christmas décor while you decorate your gingerbread creations.

Cookie Decorating at Village Hotel

Village Hotel guests only; class includes chef’s hat and all supplies.

Join us in Village Hotel's conference room to capture the whimsy of holiday decorating during this family-friendly event! Your own personal chef hat adds to the excitement of decorating assorted sugar cookies with icing and edible decorations. The hotel’s pastry team joins you to offer expert tips and take-home techniques, guaranteeing your creations will be a hit at your next work, neighborhood, or holiday cookie exchange.

Ornament Decorating at The Inn

$39 per person. Includes supplies. Overnight Guests only.

Join us in the Commodore Room at The Inn to create a unique keepsake holiday ornament in this special workshop led by local Asheville artist Andrea Kulish. Participants learn to decorate eggs in the traditional Ukrainian Pysanky style to make beautiful pieces of art. Andrea’s handcrafted ornaments will be displayed during instruction and all supplies will be provided.
