Dine among the flowers with this delightful collaboration between Biltmore’s Chef Shannon Sutherland and the Flat Rock Playhouse. The night begins with a cocktail reception in the Butterfly Garden followed by a five-course dinner in the Conservatory’s Orchid Room filled with exotic blooms. Players from the Flat Rock Playhouse entertain with short excerpts from A Midsummer Night's Dream to create a magical night of fine dining and entertainment.

 

Reservations are required. Call 800-211-9803 to reserve. Biltmore Passholders enjoy a special 10% discount.

The bounty of Biltmore’s fields, gardens, and vineyards is celebrated this fall throughout the estate, from the magnificence of America’s largest home embraced by autumn hues across the Blue Ridge Mountains to glorious gardens, harvest menus, and Winery activities by the barrel full.

Saturday, September 24th

International Rose Trials

Included with estate admission.

On September 24, an international jury will judge the final round of the 2016 Biltmore International Rose Trials, selecting winning roses in 12 categories, including the George & Edith Vanderbilt Award for Most Outstanding Rose of the Trials (Best in Show).

 

Since 2011, Biltmore’s historic Rose Garden has been home to the trials in which more than 150 varieties from growers and breeders worldwide have been planted and cared for by Biltmore’s expert horticulturalists.

 

Guests visiting Biltmore’s gardens may view the roses on trial, which are planted and marked in borders in the Walled Garden and areas near the historic Rose Garden.

A beginner? No problem. Basic design tips will give you confidence. Whether you’re a traditionalist or more contemporary be inspired with new ideas and techniques. Personalize your wreath using natural elements, such as twigs, cones, and moss.

 

2:00 p.m. -  Terrific Tabletop Topiaries
How about something different instead of the usual centerpiece? Learn different styles and techniques and use faux berries, greenery, natural materials and your imagination!
