Creating a Christmas Centerpiece
Immerse Oasis floral foam in water until saturated. Cut to fit your container leaving about an inch extending above the top so you can angle material upward for a more natural look. Leave space so you can add water later. Secure the foam with waterproof tape.
Insert stems of evergreens into the foam. Choose a variety for texture and interest. Boxwood, yew, ivy, pine, magnolia, and arborvitae are just a few long lasting choices.
Now comes the fun part! Make it your own. Wire pinecones, add pods, twigs, or berries (rose hips and nandina are the longest lasting), anything you've discovered on your walks—even feathers, into the foam. Fruit also makes a great addition, but it will have to be changed.
Water the arrangement as needed. The foam needs to be wet, but not floating in water.
