Artwork Submission Guidelines

Your artwork will appear on the "front" label of the bottle and should meet the following criteria upon submission:

  • Design your artwork to meet the dimensions of up to 3"W x 5.5"H. The label design you submit does not need to be a rectangle, but it cannot exceed these dimensions.
  • All artwork should be 300dpi (hi-resolution required for sharp printing). If your artwork is selected, we will contact you with specific file information.
  • Please save your artwork as a jpeg for submitting online. The file size cannot exceed 5mb for the upload.
  • Because we're looking for label artwork, keep in mind that your submission needs to be of good quality and taste, and that it must meet the artwork guidelines.

Rules & Regulations

No purchase necessary to enter. The "Christmas at Biltmore Wine Label Design Contest" will be held November 1, 2012–March 31, 2013. Up to 5 (five) or more semi-finalists will be selected from all valid entries by a Biltmore appointed panel. A first place winner will be selected by a collection of online votes from February 1, 2013–February 28, 2013 and will be notified by March 20, 2013. Prizes are non-transferable. The first place prize must be used in its entirety during one visit by the winner and one guest and be redeemed by January 1, 2014. Some restrictions apply.

Eligibility: The Contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and District of Columbia (US) who are 21 years of age or older as of the date of entry and possess a valid US driver's license. Employees, directors and officers and their immediate families and household members of Biltmore and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates and companies involved in the implementation of the Sweepstakes are not eligible to participate.

Sponsor: Biltmore Estate Wine Company, 1 N. Pack Square, Asheville NC, 28801.

General Conditions/Release: By participating, entrants release the Sponsor and its affiliated companies, their respective directors, officers, agents and employees from any and all liability for any claims, costs, injuries, losses or damages of any kind caused by their participation in the Contest or in connection with any visit they make to Biltmore in connection with the Contest. Any taxes will be the sole responsibility of the prize winners.

All artwork submitted to Biltmore in connection with this Contest is considered to be in the nature of a "work for hire" and ownership of the design submitted and all rights to the copyright, trademark, reproduction, copying, alterations or other rights of ownership with respect to each design submitted in connection with this Contest shall vest in and be the sole exclusive property and right of Biltmore Estate Wine Company. Submission of the artwork shall evidence the contestant's transfer and assignment of such rights to Biltmore Estate Wine Company, however, winning contestants agree to execute any other documentation reasonably requested by Biltmore to evidence such assignment. Contestant acknowledges that upon submission of an artwork entry in this Contest, contestant waives all rights of contestant to display, reproduce, sell, copy, or disseminate such artwork in any media of any nature. Biltmore Estate Wine Company reserves the right to alter any fonts used, without altering the original design, in order to maintain legibility, consistency, and other factors as determined necessary. Biltmore Estate Wine Company reserves the right to cancel the contest at any time.

Contestant acknowledges by submission of an entry in this Contest that the name "Biltmore" and any marks, labels, logos, images, thereof or of the Biltmore House, gardens, or other features of Biltmore's property are proprietary to Biltmore and that no display, reproduction or dissemination of any of such items in any media of any nature is permitted without the express prior written consent of Biltmore, provided that contestant may make limited use of such items solely in connection with the submission of artwork to Biltmore pursuant to this Contest.

Disputes: Entrants agree that: (a) any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of, or connected with, the Contest or any prize awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action, and exclusively by the appropriate court located in Buncombe County, North Carolina; (b) any and all claims, judgments and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with entering the Contest, but in no event shall attorneys fees be covered; and (c) under no circumstances will entrants be permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant waives all rights to, claim punitive, incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than out-of-pocket expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these rules shall be governed by, construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of North Carolina, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules.
