A Wedding That Inspired
Some of the treasures found in Biltmore House were given as gifts to commemorate the 1898 wedding of Edith Stuyvesant Dresser to George Vanderbilt. The Vanderbilts were married in a simple ceremony at the American Cathedral in Paris with 150 of their close friends and family in attendance. Although the couple had known each other for several years before becoming engaged and married, Miss Dresser had never visited her fiancé’s magnificent home in Asheville, North Carolina prior to arriving there after an extended European honeymoon.
Inspired by the Vanderbilt’s courtship, engagement, and wedding, our beautiful hand- and machine-crafted Trapunto Wedding Quilt is a thoughtful gift for today’s newlyweds. Whether you are planning your registry or seeking the perfect remembrance, this traditionally-styled quilt is sure to become a valued heirloom that symbolizes all the joy of a special wedding day.
