Cast Off for a Good Time

Polish your fly-fishing skills with our expert guidance from our professional instructors. Biltmore is an Orvis Endorsed Fly-fishing Lodge.

Intro to Fly-Fishing (Two Hours)

Learn the essentials of casting. Test your new skills from the shores or on a boat at the Lagoon. Taught by world-class Biltmore instructors. All Orvis equipment provided. Minimum age is 7 years.
Cost: $125.00 for one person per instructor. Fees are in addition to estate admission. NC fishing license not required.

Half-Day Fly-Fishing Lesson

Learn the basics of fly-fishing and casting, including equipment, casting, presentation, landing the fish, water safety, and knots from our expert guides. Takes place on the estate. Biltmore provides Orvis equipment. Current NC fishing license required. Minimum age is 7 years.
Cost: $225.00 per person for four-hour instructions per instructor, in addition to estate admission.

Customized Fly-Fishing Adventures

Learn the magnificent sport of fly-fishing with one of our experienced guides, while Biltmore provides you with all Orvis equipment. Enjoy a full-day guided fly-fishing wade trip or float trip on the French Broad River or other local river. Includes lunch. Biltmore is an Orvis Endorsed Fly-fishing Lodge. Current NC fishing license required. Minimum age is 7 years.
Cost: $350.00 Full-day up to two guests. Fees are in addition to estate admission.

Fishing Checklist:

• Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty or wet.
• Bring waterproof sunscreen, sunglasses with straps, hat, and long-sleeved shirts and pants for sun protection.
• A North Carolina fishing license is required for guided trips but not for lessons.
• Participants 18 years old and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Explore Biltmore Pass

An Explore Biltmore Pass provides all the benefits of a Twelve-Month Passholder, plus access to estate bicycle trails at no additional cost, and discounts on selected outdoor experiences. This discount benefit may be extended to one non-passholder guest. Guest must have estate admission.
