Half-Day Fly-Fishing Lesson

Learn the basics of fly-fishing and casting, including equipment, casting, presentation, landing the fish, water safety, and knots from our expert guides. Enjoy the beauty of the estate during your lesson, including testing your skills at one of our ponds or lakes. Biltmore provides Orvis equipment. Minimum age is 12 years.
Cost: $225.00 per person for four-hour instructions per instructor, in addition to estate admission. NC fishing license not required.
Two- Hour Kids Fishing

Kids can fish our Lagoon area with a fishing instructor using conventional spinning or baitcasting rods and tackle. All fishing equipment is provided. Minimum age is 7 years.
Cost:$125.00 per person. Maximum 2 kids per instructor. Fees are in addition to estate admission. No fishing license required.
Guided Fly Fishing Adventures

Enjoy full-day fly fishing adventures including a guided fly-fishing float trip on the French Broad River for Smallmouth Bass or an exciting wade trip on a private trout stream angling for trophy size trout. (intermediate to advanced skill only). Includes lunch. Approximately 6 hours. All Orvis equipment provided. Minimum age is 12 years.
Cost:$350.00–$450.00 for a full-day, up to two guests. Fees are in addition to estate admission. NC fishing license required.
Fishing Checklist:
- Wear comfortable clothing that can get dirty or wet.
- Bring waterproof sunscreen, sunglasses with straps, hat, and long-sleeved shirts and pants for sun protection.
- A North Carolina fishing license is required for guided trips but not for lessons.
- Participants 18 years and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
