Guided Horseback Riding

Enjoy a western-style, one-hour guided ride on beautiful trails through the woodlands and meadows of the estate. Suitable for beginner to intermediate-level riders.

Cost: $55 per person, in addition to estate admission.
Available for ages 8 and up.

Private Lunch Trail Ride

Enjoy a private three-hour trail ride and picnic lunch. Some riding experience needed.

Cost: $230.00 per person, in addition to estate admission.
Max: 4 people. Min: 2 people.
Available for ages 10 and up.

Private Trail Ride

Horseback Riding Rules

Trail Rules are for the safety of all guests, horses and guides. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the forfeiture of your ride.

  • Minimum age limit is 8 years old; all youth will be riding their own horse. Weight limit is 250 lbs; height limit is 6’5” tall.
  • All guests are required to step on the scale to verify compliance with guidelines.
  • Helmets are recommended for all guests. Helmets are required for youth under the age of 18.
  • A parent or guardian must accompany youth under the age of 18.
  • Riders must wear boots, sneakers or hard soled shoes that come up to the ankle in order to ride. No sandals, crocks, mules, open-toed or open-backed shoes will be allowed.
  • Long pants are strongly recommended. Dresses and skirts are prohibited.
  • Plastic rain ponchos and umbrellas are prohibited during inclement weather. Guests may wear rain jackets or coats.
  • Please follow your guide’s instructions. They are here to help you and our horses.
  • Your guide will get your horse, adjust equipment, and help you mount and dismount your horse at the mounting block. Guests are to remain mounted for the entire ride.
  • Your guide will set a walking pace for the ride. There is no trotting while on the ride.
  • No smoking is allowed while on the trail ride or in the corral.
  • All cell phones must be turned off.
  • Tie loose clothing in a secure double knot. Please do not remove your coat or jacket when mounted.
  • Handbags, backpacks, and large camera bags are not permitted on the ride.
  • Youth riders must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Explore Biltmore Pass

An Explore Biltmore Pass provides all the benefits of a Twelve-Month Passholder, plus access to estate bicycle trails at no additional cost, and discounts on selected outdoor experiences. This discount benefit may be extended to one non-passholder guest. Guest must have estate admission.
