Special Happenings
At Biltmore House:
Stroll through Biltmore House and feel the warmth of crackling fires in select rooms. Smell the delicate scent of fresh roses placed throughout the house and look for displays of tussie mussies—nosegays of flowers and herbs that carry special messages in the language of flowers.
Join us in the Library Den from 10:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m. daily to hear stories about George and Edith Vanderbilt's lives together, and view items that were special to them. Look for interpretive signage throughout the First Floor detailing more romantic stories.
At the Winery:
Please register in the Winery Welcome Center; activities offered daily.
- Romantic stories about the Vanderbilt family, presented at 2:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. in the Champagne Cellar.
- Red Wine & Chocolate, 2:30 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. Ah, the complex, incredible pairing of red wine and chocolate; what could be better? Experience the decadence as we sample several different flavors and bouquets.
- Chocolate Truffle cooking demonstrations, 3:00 p.m. in the Wine Bar. See how our chefs create magical truffles and take home their recipes!
In the Restaurants:
The estate's restaurants celebrate this romantic time of year with delicious menu offerings and array of savory and sweet chocolate dishes. Also, be sure to enjoy Afternoon Chocolate Tea at the Inn on Biltmore Estate. Please reserve in advance at 800-411-3812.
