Atlanta, GA

Follow Interstate 85 north into South Carolina to Greenville. Take I-185 north at exit 42 and then exit to US Highway 25 north. Follow US 25 north into North Carolina, and continue to I-26 west. Take I-26 west to Asheville. Follow I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.

Alternate Route:

Follow Interstate 85 north to I-985 north. I-985 becomes US Highway 23 at Gainesville, GA. Continue on US Highway 23 north into North Carolina, through Franklin, Sylva, and Waynesville. From Waynesville follow I-40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.

Augusta, GA

Follow Interstate 20 east to Columbia, South Carolina, and then follow I-26 west to Asheville. Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours 45 minutes.

Birmingham, AL

Follow Interstate 59 north to Chattanooga, and then follow I-24 east and I-75 north to Knoxville. From Knoxville follow I-40 east into North Carolina to Asheville and take exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 6 hours.

Alternate Route:

Follow Interstate 20 east to Atlanta, and then take I-85 north into South Carolina to Greenville. Take I-185 north at exit 42 and then exit to US Highway 25 north. Follow US 25 north into North Carolina, and continue to I-26 west. Take I-26 west to Asheville. Follow I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 6 hours.

Charleston, SC

Follow Interstate 26 west to Asheville. Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 4 hours.

Charleston, WV

Follow Interstate 77 south into Virginia to I-81 at Wytheville. Follow I-81 south into Tennessee to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and take scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, follow I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 4 hours 45 minutes.

Charlotte, NC

Follow Interstate 85 south to US Highway 321 in Gastonia (exit 17) and then follow US 321 north to I-40. Take I-40 west to Asheville, and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours.

Chattanooga, TN

Follow Interstate 75 north to Knoxville and I-40. Follow I-40 east to Asheville and take exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours 45 minutes.

Alternate Route:

Follow Interstate 75 north, then take exit 20 toward US Highway 64 E/Cleveland, TN (Highway 64 merges with Highway 74). Follow scenic US Highway 74 into North Carolina and all the way to I-40 near Waynesville. Follow I-40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 4 hours 30 minutes.

Cincinnati, OH

Follow Interstate 75 south to Knoxville, then follow I-640 east to I-40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25). Turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 6 hours.

Alternate Route:

Follow Interstate 75 south to Knoxville, then take I-40 east to I-81 north (exit 421). Take I-81 north to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and take scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, follow I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 6 hours 45 minutes.

Durham, NC

Follow Interstate 40 west to Asheville, and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours 30 minutes.

Gatlinburg, TN

Follow US Highway 321 (East Parkway) to Foothills Parkway. Turn right on Foothills Parkway and then take Interstate 40 east to Asheville into North Carolina and exit 50 (US Highway 25). Turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 90 minutes.

Alternate Route 1:

Follow US Highway 441 through Pigeon Forge and Sevierville to state highway 66 north and then north to Interstate 40. Take I-40 east to Interstate 81 north (exit 421). Take I-81 north to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and follow scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, take I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 3 hours.

Alternate Route 2 (through Great Smoky Mountains National Park):

Follow scenic US Highway 441 south through Great Smoky Mountains National Park into North Carolina, and then take US Highway 74 east to Interstate 40 near Waynesville. Follow I-40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours or more depending upon weather and traffic. (US 441 through the Great Smoky Mountains may be closed during winter.)

Greensboro, NC

Follow Interstate 40 west to Asheville, and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

Greenville, NC

Follow US Highway 264 to Raleigh and connect to I-440 west (Outer Beltline), then connect to I-40 going towards Durham. Follow I-40 west to Asheville, and take exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 5 hours 30 minutes.

Greenville, SC

Follow US Highway 25 north into North Carolina, and continue to I-26 west. Take I-26 west to Asheville. Follow I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 1 hour.

Jacksonville, FL

Follow Interstate 95 north into Georgia and South Carolina. Take I-26 west towards Columbia, Spartanburg, and into North Carolina to Asheville. Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 7 hours.

Johnson City/Kingsport/Bristol, TN (Tri-Cities)

Follow scenic Interstate 26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, follow I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 1 hour–1 hour 30 minutes.

Knoxville, TN

Follow Interstate 40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours.

Alternate Route 1:

Follow Interstate 40 to Interstate 81 north (exit 421). Take I-81 north to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and follow scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, take I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours 45 minutes.

Alternate Route 2:

Follow Interstate 40 to exit 432B for US-25/US 70 toward Newport. After Newport, 25/70 becomes Dixie Highway. Follow signs to stay on 25/70. Shortly after entering North Carolina, you will pass through the town of Hot Springs. Continue until you reach I-26. Take I-26 East to get to Asheville. This scenic detour adds approximately 30 minutes to travel time, but expect curves and other traffic.

Driving time: approximately 2 hours 30 minutes.

Lexington, KY

Follow Interstate 75 south to Knoxville, then take I-40 east to Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25). Turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 5 hours.

Alternate Route:

Follow Interstate 75 south to Knoxville, then take I-40 east to I-81 north (exit 421). Take I-81 north to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and take scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, follow I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Myrtle Beach, SC

Follow US 501 north to state highway 576 west, then to US Highway 76 west and Interstate 20 Spur through Florence to I-20 west to Columbia. Take I-26 west into North Carolina to Asheville. Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 5 hours.

Nashville, TN

Follow Interstate 40 east to North Carolina and Asheville and exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Driving time: approximately 4 hours 45 minutes.

Follow Interstate 40 to Interstate 81 north (exit 421). Take I-81 north to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and take scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. Follow Interstate 95 south to I-85 south at Petersburg. Take I-85 south into North Carolina and then follow I-40 west to Asheville and exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Roanoke, VA

Follow Interstate 81 south into Tennessee to exit 57 (Interstate 26 east), and take scenic I-26 east through Johnson City to Asheville. In Asheville, follow I-240 east to I-40 west. Follow Interstate 40 west to exit 50B (US Highway 25 North). After exiting stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Spartanburg, SC

Follow Interstate 26 west to Asheville. Take I-40 east to exit 50 (US Highway 25), then turn left at the traffic light after exiting. Stay in the left lane and follow signs to the Biltmore entrance.

Washington, DC
