What's Blooming in Our Gardens

The estate is especially rosy right now, with the Rose Garden in peak bloom and roses all over the estate blossoming beautifully. The Walled Garden Pattern Beds are full of vibrant colors. The entry flower beds hold bright yellow mum standards over pink snapdragons while Chinese Dogwoods and large shrubs flowering along roadsides offer guests a sunny welcome.

Through mid-May, enjoy these blooming plants:

Azalea Garden:

A few late Native and Evergreen Azaleas, Rhododendron, Columbine, Celandine Poppy, Buckeye, Enkianthus, May Apples, Sweetshrub, Florida Anise, Iris, Leucothoe, Snowmound Spirea, Viburnums, Baptisia, Sweetbay Magnolia, and Enkianthus.

Antler Hill Village, Winery, and Farm:

Viburnum, Smoketree, Spiderwort, , Roses, Snapdragon and other spring annuals, Iris, Baptisia, Dianthus, Clematis, Azaleas, Salvia ‘May Night’, Red Hot Poker, Chamomile, Valerian, Weld, Strawberry, and Nigella.

Conservatory:

Gerber Daisy, Calla Lily, Mandevilla, Ranunculus, Hydrangea, Cyclamen, Orchids, Geraniums, Bougainvillea, and Sunflowers.

Estate Entry and Approach Road:

Snapdragons and other Spring annuals, Catawba Rhododendron, Flame Native Azaleas, Mt. Laurel, Native Wisteria, Yellowwood Trees, Mock Orange, and Slender Deutzia.

Inn on Biltmore Estate:

Iris, Roses, Ninebark, Peony, Clematis, Homestead Verbena, Rhododendrons, Viburnums, and Native Wisteria.

Italian Garden:

Japanese Water Iris and early blooming Water Lilies.

Spring Garden:

Red Buckeye, Sweetshrub, Hawthorn, Dwarf Garland Spirea, Weigela, Beauty Bush, Catawba Hybrid Rhododendrons, Mt. Laurel, Enkianthus, and Pink Lady Slippers.

Shrub Garden:

Mt. Laurel, Slender Deutzia, Vinca, Yellowwood Tree, Bleeding Heart, Amsonia, Scotch Broom, Red Buckeye, Beautybush, Weigela, Mock Orange, Chinese Fringe Trees, New Jersey Tea, Peony, Alternate – leaf Butterfly Bush, Indigofera, Chinese Dogwood, Ninebark, Roses, and Salvias.

Walled Garden:
