More to Do
Starting February 10, the artistry of great literary works, costume design, and movie making comes together in Designed for Drama: Fashion from the Classics, a new exhibition premiering in Biltmore House. More than 40 award-winning movie costumes will be on display throughout America’s largest home, accompanied by the original books in George Vanderbilt’s 22,000-volume library that inspired the films.
Tours and Outdoor Activities
Admission includes a free audio tour to Biltmore House from January 9 - February 9, 2017. Venturing outdoors in wintertime offers its own unique pleasures. A brisk walk through the gardens provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, ending with a warm respite in the estate’s grand Conservatory. There are a variety of ways to explore the estate’s 8,000 acres available at the Outdoor Adventure Center in Antler Hill Village. Guests can sharpen their skills with expert instruction in fly-fishing, sporting clays, and Land Rover off-road driving.
Restaurants in Antler Hill Village provide plenty of opportunities to warm up with hot cocoa, signature cocktails, and local ales accompanied by hearty favorites, from contemporary American cuisine to pub fare to regional specialties inspired by the Vanderbilt heritage of fine dining.
