The artistry of great literary works, costume design, and movie making comes together in Designed for Drama: Fashion from the Classics, a new exhibition premiering in Biltmore House. More than 40 award-winning movie costumes will be on display throughout America’s largest home, accompanied by the original books in George Vanderbilt’s 22,000-volume library that inspired the films.

Venturing outdoors in wintertime offers its own unique pleasures. A brisk walk through the gardens provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains, ending with a warm respite in the estate’s grand Conservatory. There are a variety of ways to explore the estate’s 8,000 acres available at the Outdoor Adventure Center in Antler Hill Village. Guests can sharpen their skills with expert instruction in fly-fishing, sporting clays, and Land Rover off-road driving.
