Hospitality Training
Biltmore has partnered with other local hospitality employers, Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College, and Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina to offer a customized tutorial in hospitality. Using curricula developed by the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AHLA), students receive comprehensive instruction in hotel operations with a focus on guest services, food and beverage, front desk, housekeeping, and other critical departments. Guest speakers from sponsoring companies supplement the course content with insights, real-life examples of challenging guest service recovery situations, and career tips and suggestions. This six-week course culminates in an examination to obtain both A-B Tech and AHLA certification, credits that can be transferred to programs offered within the state system. Students who wish to further their understanding of food and beverage operations can apply for additional certification that focuses on fine dining and banquet event functions.
