The Vanderbilts at Home and Abroad

Enjoy an intimate look at the family that created Biltmore with our exhibition, The Vanderbilts at Home and Abroad. This exhibition sheds light on the time the Vanderbilts spent as a family at Biltmore and beyond. Located in Antler Hill Village.

Equestrian Center - Ride Biltmore Program

$30 per person with estate admission, plus applicable tax.

Enjoy more than 80 miles of well-marked estate trails with your horse. Limited primitive camping and access to our rental paddocks are both available for additional fees.

Featuring some of the area’s finest musicians, our live jazz evenings offer the perfect opportunity to cozy up with a cocktail and recount the highlights of your day at Biltmore.

Craft Demonstrations

Included in admission, with a Biltmore Annual Pass, or an overnight stay at The Inn or Village Hotel

Time-honored traditions are kept alive by the enthusiasm and expertise of our blacksmiths, woodworkers, and other craftspeople. Antler Hill Barn hosts craft demonstrations and kids’ hands-on crafting projects that allow children the opportunity to make a special toy or souvenir to take home. At our Farmyard, guests can enjoy engaging farm talks and demos that include sheep herding, goat milking, brushing, and hoof trimming.

  • Craft Demonstrations: 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m., 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m., & 4:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
  • Kid’s Hands-On Crafts: 1:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Goat Milking: 11:00 a.m.
  • Farm Talk: 11:30 a.m., 3:00 p.m., 5:00 p.m.
  • Goat Brushing/Hoof Trimming: 4:00 p.m. 
  • Sheep Herding: 1:00 p.m. Saturdays through Oct. 26

 

Demonstrations offered between hours noted. Kids’ crafting projects (for children 4-12 and their accompanying adult) change daily and include traditional crafts reminiscent of Biltmore, the Vanderbilt era, or the Appalachian region.

Come to Village Social at Village Hotel for live music select evenings with a variety of talented, versatile musicians. Relax while enjoying a diverse mix of musical styles ranging from jazz to R&B, from blues to funky pop rock.

Guided Hike: River Stroll

Explore the estate’s East Side with an insider’s perspective on this relaxed-paced, one-hour guided stroll on partially paved trails. Meet your River Stroll leader at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes; active wear is available at The Marble Lion retail shop within The Inn and at Antler Hill Outfitters in Antler Hill Village.

Guided Hike: Trail Blazers

Included with a stay at The Inn, Village Hotel, or Cottage

Explore the estate’s East Side with an insider’s perspective on this moderate- to fast-paced guided hike through wooded areas on dirt-packed trails. Meet your Trail Blazers hike leader at the Outdoor Adventure Center. Wear comfortable clothing and closed toe shoes; active wear is available at The Marble Lion retail shop within The Inn and at Antler Hill Outfitters in Antler Hill Village. Hike lasts between 1 and 1.5 hours.
