Biltmore Expands Gourmet Foods Program Through New Partnership with Seven Seas International

Biltmore’s home products division is pleased to announce expansion of its gourmet foods program to include smoked salmon products and hake fillets through a partnership with fish purchasing, processing and production company Seven Seas International USA LLC. The partnership reflects Biltmore’s commitment to offering consumers a gourmet line of products perfect for everyday meals and entertaining in keeping with founder George W. Vanderbilt’s legacy of culinary taste and standard for legendary hospitality.
New Biltmore products available in retail stores throughout the Southeast in late February include 4-ounce packaged salmon in three varieties – Scottish Smoked Salmon, Gravlax with dill sauce, and wild caught Sockeye Smoked Salmon – as well as 6-ounce packaged Norwegian Fillet Royale Smoked Salmon. In addition, main course “steam pouch” hake fillets will be available this fall in two marinade flavors inspired and selected by Biltmore chefs. The steam-cooking pouch allows for quick preparation and brings out the natural and delicate flavor of the hake, while retaining its flaky texture. The Sockeye Smoked Salmon and hake products are wild caught and sourced from Marine Stewardship Council (MSC) certified sustainable stock.

We see our partnership with Seven Seas as another ideal fit for an extension of Biltmore’s high quality brand into the retail food market.”
The Biltmore and Seven Seas partnership embodies a unique combination of history and heritage. Holland-based Seven Seas dates its beginnings to the late 19th century when founders sold fish products in and around “De Bilt,” the town from which Biltmore received its name and the Vanderbilt family place of origin. “We believe the Vanderbilts would have been proud to serve our products to their guests at Biltmore,” said Managing Director of Seven Seas Wijnant van de Groep. “We look forward to a very successful partnership based on our global sourcing capability and our uncompromising focus on quality and sustainability. Biltmore’s entire line of gourmet food products is a natural extension of the 8,000-acre estate’s culinary heritage and mission to continue operation as a self-sustaining farm.
