The Biltmore Company
As President of Biltmore Attraction Division for The Biltmore Company, Tom manages the Estate Attraction, including Biltmore House and Gardens, Food & Beverage, Retail Operations, the Inn on Biltmore Estate, and the Reception & Ticketing Sales Center. Since coming to The Biltmore Company in 1996, Tom has overseen the growth of the estate’s Food and Beverage operations, including the property’s six restaurants, catering and banquet services, and the design, development, and opening of the Inn on Biltmore Estate.
The Inn on Biltmore Estate, which overlooks the Biltmore Winery and the Blue Ridge Mountains, is the only accommodation located on the property. The 210-room Inn offers a variety of guest rooms and suites as well as banquet, board and meeting facilities, a full-service, 150-seat fine-dining restaurant, library, lobby bar, exterior swimming pool, and fitness room.
Prior to joining Biltmore, Tom worked as an independent hospitality consultant. He has also held key food and beverage management positions with Marriott Hotels and Resorts and Hyatt Hotels Corporation.
Tom is a Certified Food and Beverage Executive (CFBE) with the American Hotel and Motel Association (1996). In 1998, he became a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), also with the American Hotel and Motel Association. In addition, he serves on the Resort Committee of the American Hotel & Lodging Association, the North Carolina Travel & Tourism Coalition, and is a member of both the North Carolina Hotel and Motel Association and Southern Innkeepers. He is the Bailli d’Provincal with La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs™. Tom holds a degree in Food Service and Housing Administration from Pennsylvania State University and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.
