Red Wine Cranberry Sauce
Put a new spin on this Thanksgiving classic with wine and apples.
Preparation Time: 1 hour
- 2 pounds fresh cranberries
- 1 cup red wine such as Cabernet Sauvignon
- 1 cup maple syrup
- 2 cups Granny Smith apples
Combine all ingredients except apples in a four-quart saucepot over medium heat. Simmer one hour or until thickened. Core and finely chop apples. Stir in chopped apples off heat.
