Great recipe

By Myra Ramsey

Simple but delicious recipe as only Biltmore can make it.

Whether you make this delicious appetizer ahead of time or simply whisk it together moments before your guests arrive, our Smoked Salmon Bruschetta is a wonderful way to get the party started. Also perfect as a light accompaniment with soups or salads.

Serves 6

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

  • Good-quality baguette
  • 4 oz. Biltmore Smoked Salmon
  • 1 oz. cream cheese
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped red onion (optional)
  • Shredded cheese
  • Capers

Preparation Instructions

Turn oven on to broil. Slice baguette on a diagonal into 6 1/2-inch slices. Cut salmon on a diagonal into 6 thin slices. Blend cream cheese, onions, and capers. Brush olive oil on one side of bread, arrange on a baking sheet, and toast until they begin to brown, approximately 3-5 minutes. Turn the bread over, spread with the cream cheese mixture, add the slice of salmon, sprinkle with shredded cheese. Return to broiler and cook until cheese begins to melt, approximately 3-5 minutes. This smoked salmon bruschetta can be prepared hours in advance and refrigerated, but is quick enough to make and serve in 15 minutes.
