Sharon Fenchak, Winemaker

Biltmore winemaker Sharon Fenchak handcrafts our award-winning wines with the philosophy of keeping each one true to varietal character and consistent from vintage to vintage.

Sharon has served as head winemaker since 2018, creating wines worthy of the finest Vanderbilt traditions of taste and style.

“My love of science at a very young age helped shape what would become my passion for winemaking, and I fell even more in love with the idea and romance of wine when I was stationed in Vicenza, Italy.” –Sharon Fenchak

Sharon joined Biltmore in 1999 as assistant winemaker to veteran French winemaker Bernard Delille. She was promoted to winemaker in 2003. Before that, Sharon crafted wines for two different Georgia wineries. She holds an MBA from Western Carolina University, a master’s degree in food science from the University of Georgia, a bachelor’s degree in food science from Penn State University, and has served in both the US Army and the US Army Reserves.
