Honoring Frederick Law Olmsted

April 26, 2022 marked the 200th birthday of the visionary recognized as the father of American landscape architecture. Known for designing New York City’s Central Park (1857) and Washington DC’s United States Capitol Grounds (1874), Olmsted’s crowning achievement was the landscape design of George Vanderbilt’s iconic estate (1895).
